An Expedition with Schocker

“An Expedition with Schocker” is a musical story about a curious little girl — eager to learn, discover new things, meet new friends, and connect deeply with the natural world. This flute recital will take you on a special journey, guided by Pu-Yu’s narration and told through the expressive voice of her flute.

 

About the composer:

Gary Schocker is one of the finest flutists of his generation — a gifted pianist, harpist, teacher, and the most published living composer of flute music, with over 300 works in print. He has written more than 1,800 pieces for flute, piccolo, piano, harp, oboe, bassoon, clarinet, horn, two pianos, piano four hands, chamber ensembles, songs, theatrical works, and children’s musicals.

 

In this concert, Pu-Yu Wu will take you on an expedition through Schocker’s imaginative sound world, performing selections from:

Flute Forest, What’s Old Is New, Mead & Mush, Mokuhanga, Memory Book and more......
