About Us
Craig and Pu-Yu have been teaching and running Intuition Music School with a dedicated team of teachers on the Central Coast for over two decades. We have now scaled down to just the two of us, allowing us to focus not only on teaching but also on refining our own skills on our main instruments, and to spend more time exploring, learning, and sharing our passion for music.

Pu-Yu Wu

Pu-Yu Wu is a pianist, flutist, and music educator who relocated from the Central Coast to Gulgong in 2024. Originally from Taiwan, she completed a Bachelor of Arts degree at Soochow University in Taipei, majoring in piano and minoring in flute, before moving to Australia in 2003 where she earned performance and teaching diplomas in both instruments.
Now celebrating her 30th year of teaching, Pu-Yu has guided students of all ages both locally and internationally, in person and online. She is passionate about helping young musicians grow in confidence while also nurturing a lifelong love of music.
Alongside teaching, Pu-Yu has enjoyed a diverse performing career. She has appeared as both pianist and flutist in concerts across Taiwan, Korea, and Australia, from classical recital halls to world music festivals including WOMADelaide, Jeonju Sori Festival, and the Jarasum International Jazz Festival. Over the years, she has collaborated with renowned musicians such as Annalisa Kerrigan, Doc Neeson, Phil Emmanuel, Mark Atkins, and Christian Marsh — just to name a few — and recorded on numerous albums across genres.
In recent years, Pu-Yu has been studying with world-renowned flutist, pianist, and composer Gary Schocker, an experience that has reignited her passion for the flute and deepened her commitment to sharing music.
Craig Ryan

Craig Ryan is a drummer, percussionist, and music educator who has been sharing his love of music for decades. Born with a rhythm in his soul, Craig began drumming on paint tins with wooden spoons at the age of three and quickly captured the attention (and sometimes patience!) of everyone around him. Music became a lifelong passion, and the drums in particular have always been his instrument of choice.
Craig started his professional career at age 10 as Lead Drummer in a military band, performing at ANZAC marches etc, before moving onto the full drum kit and studying under various teachers privately, including at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. He has also completed his Certificate of Music Teaching and Associated Diplomas for drum performance and teaching, further cementing his expertise as an educator.
After playing in several original bands around Sydney, Craig spent two years on a working holiday in England, performing as a percussionist in clubs across London and Oxford. From house bands to improvised weekly gigs with guest artists, he developed the versatility to play an astonishing range of styles — from blues, rock, jazz, funk, and Latin to reggae, country, classical, metal, and mainstream.
Back in Australia, Craig performed full-time with working bands, including The Midnight Oil Show, The Eagles Show, The A-Team, and Party Pigs, among others. He also discovered DJing during his time in London, which led to two simultaneous residencies: Bondi Hotel, The Beachcomber Hotel in Toukley.
Craig has performed and recorded with numerous acclaimed musicians, including Phil Emmanuel, Dai Pritchard, Glen Terry, Andy Thompson, Harry Brus, Gail Page, Dave Longo, Mal Eastic, Dave Bishop, Andrew Toner, Christian Marsh, Steve Edmond, and two-time Grammy Award winner Howard Levy.
For Craig, one of the greatest joys of being a musician is creating music with other artists in the recording studio — capturing those rare moments of magic that deeply resonate with listeners. His diverse experience and lifelong dedication to music continue to inspire his students and fellow performers alike.
